Here is what is installed in the two houses, and what it actually does. Every line matches equipment on site.
A 30-panel photovoltaic array runs in self-consumption mode, with its own production meter. The electricity produced is used on site by the two houses; the surplus is fed into the public grid. The remainder is bought from the grid, under an ordinary supply contract.
Two thermal panels heat the water used in both houses.
All lighting, indoors and out, is LED.
Rainwater is collected and used to irrigate the garden, in place of mains water.
An ABB Terra AC wall box is installed on the property and available to guests: Type 2 socket, 5-metre tethered cable, single-phase 16 A supply, about 3.7 kW.

The houses are built in Minho stone under a tiled roof. The thermal mass of the walls keeps the rooms cool in summer: no air conditioning is installed.
